The island of Lanta was known long ago as "Pulau Satak", a name of Malayan origin meaning Long Beach Island. Today's name is most probably a corrupted form of the Javanese words Lantas that means a fish grill and that finally gave this island "Koh Lanta" In 1917, the name changed to "Koh Lanta" and the two main island together with 51 smaller isles became a small province of Krabi, Thailand. |

Lanta Sand Resort & Spa is located on the west coast of the island Koh Lanta which is part of Krabi Province, Surrounded by natural garden and beach from the Andaman Sea and is located approx 62 km south of Krabi city. Krabi is 80 minutes flight away from Bangkok. The transfer from Krabi airport is by van (crossing by car-ferry) takes by air from Bangkok. The transfer time from Trang airport - Lanta Sand Resort & Spa by van takes approx 2 hrs. It takes approx 4 hrs to travel from Phuket airport to Lanta Sand Resort & Spa by van. Transfers by van is in daytime and depending on weather condition. |
